What God Did To Us

Why?
Why tear us apart?
Manipulate us;
You’re beautiful fingers
Turning us slowly
Into clay.
You crushed us
As we climbed,
Stumbling
Out of the mud filled hell hole
Watching us get to the top-
Only to fall again…
And again.
We prayed to you:
Wordless; thoughtless;
Once I thought I loved you.
Once I thought you were there when we died.
Once I thought you were life.
But somehow
It was the Devil
Who showed me the truth.
