Betrayal

Submitted on : Jul 14, 2008
The winter night, the clear moon'd sky, gives a brightful beam,
The moon upon the crispy lake, gives a frightening scene,
Blood is in the waters, and it begins to gleam;
It wasn't but so long ago, I was in love with her,
I thought she loved me too, but my reasoning was in a blur,
For if I knew what I knew now, there wouldn't have been a were;
I saw them by that lake, arm in arm together,
Attempting to keep warm from this bizzarely chillful weather,
She was on the top, he was on the nether;
This angered me so, kept me raged, I was cold in my act,
You would be cold too if you were stabbed in the back,
My hatred was fueled to the top, broken way past max;

I should have known, at the least, that she was cheating me,
But love was in my way, I was too blind to see,
I never knew love could result in murder, first degree;

So I plotted my revenge, and kept my anger still,
I kept putting through my mind her with him they thrilled,
Getting ready for the murder and the blood spill;
I heard them talking late one night, every word she said,
Echoed and repeated more and more into my psycho head,
I made her think I still loved her, she thought she had nothing to dread;
They are down by the lake, time to do my bloody devlish bit,
I grabbed my knife for their throats I had to slit,
Grabbed my ax also, their skulls I had to split;
Down by that lake, where the moon is peaceful, they were sitting there,
They didn't see me behind them, they were the least bit aware,
Before I swung the ax I had no feeling of despair;

I should have known, at the least, that she was cheating me,
But love was in my way, I was too blind to see,
I never knew love could result in murder, first degree;

I reared it back and hit him right between the eyes,
Suddenly the night air was filled with tearful cries,
I grabbed her by the hair and slowly made her rise;
Rearing back the knife I touched it gently to her throat,
Slashed her neck and then watched her body float,
Soon soaked in red was her blue velvet coat;
That's the story of that glistening red soaked lake,
And love that isn't true and is only fake,
And of the two lives I only had to take;
So I lived with this broken heart, and I was truly sore,
I had to kill them, I couldn't take it anymore,
The lives of some guy, and my love, who was a whore.

I should have known, at the least, that she was cheating me,
But love was in my way, I was too blind to see,
I never knew love could result in murder, first degree;
