Look ask yourself would u rather have told them and know or never have told them and never know. I experienced that with a girl I loved, both of us, but when I told her I had feelings for her and if she had feelings for me it ended up bringing us together and noticed we never told each other because we were afraid of losing each other if we told the truth.

hi isaac is right its better to know than not to know i had that same fear as well because i thought that it would ruin our friendship but i think it is best to tell him and if you do and he makes that simple thing ruin your friendship then you know that it was not meant to be so first you have to look at the way he looks at you sometimes some boys hide their feelings so the only way to know is if you ask i know it might not be as easy as it sounds because trust me i have been there sister so talk to him like normal then you can say i have something to tell you then when he asked what you tell him exactly how you feel then you can say and i wanted to know if you felt the same way remember if it does not work out don't blame yourself as hard as it is you have to move on and don't let him see that you are hurting if he does not feel the same way but i know that will not happen so trust yourself and remember you got this so go tell him and if you can't in person tell him in a text or on the phone
