Being in love for the first time

So my question is,I am just a junior in high school and just barely a month or so ago when I was with my best friend who for nearly a three years(I liked him since freshmen year) to then tell me he likes me in my family car while we were camping. So I have never dated or anything and it still pretty weird,nor has he dated. And we said we want to take it slow but there still like a weird feeling that I can't describe but it feels so good. But my question is should I wait till we are nearly through with school? and take it slow and see where it goes? and what to do for a perfect 10th date. For its very special to me and I want to make it very special since I know his feelings for me,and he knows my feelings for him.
