i don't know how to tell

see there's this guy that i'm dating and honestly he says he loves me more time than i can count expresses it through words but when we're in person i feel like everything is just a fantasy i don't know if he loves me for real .......when he talks to his best friend about me its like "dude she's awesome i'm telling you " but why can't he show it .....actions speak louder than words right ...so how do you know when someone loves you?****
