religion problem

we both r in love .but he saying to stop the relation bcoz he finds in no future in our relation as his parents wont agree for marrg bcoz we are of different religion .he loved a girl 3 yrs back she died accidentally,his parents came to know and there was lots of problms in their home.now he dont want to hurt their feelings again.what can i do to convince him to talk to his parents?and to not sto the relation?i love him he too love me.we wr frnds for 7yrs.hes a doctor im a graduated student
