long distance relationship.. will it works?

my boyfriend moved away to US and live there for 5years..we are miles miles away.. i am from philippines. what am i suppose to do? should i hold on or should i let go? i love him so much and we made a promise that we will getting married when the right time comes.we've been together for 1year.. but now he's 2weeks away from me i already feel the pain of being alone and missing our everyday lives together.
