I want to know if he actually likes me, can you tell me?

There's this guy I've known for about a year now and he's become my best friend ever since I hooked him and my "ex-best friend" up about a year ago when we started talking. Well they broke up and I still talked to him because after all he was my friend too. My old best friend hates us both now, but I really don't care. Anyways, everyone thinks we're dating or that he likes me. I think so too, but he is a pretty overly friendly so it's hard to read him. During our practice after school for track and field he would constantly pick me up and run around with me, offer a ride home, and he constantly says things like: "Can I come over and me and you can just watch Netflix." Or "When can me and you go to Disneyland?" And "Me and you should go to the beach." I've also heard him say similar things to two specific other girls and he recently just told me that he sort of kind of liked them. I thought maybe if he says that to them and likes them, then he might like me too since he says those things to me a little too often. He's always picking me up or grabbing me and during lunch he always walks around with me. When I enter the library in the morning his eyes are already looking at me and it gives me hope. I really care about him and I'd do anything for him, but I'm dying to know if he might feel the same. He said he likes people, but he doesn't like them when he finds out they like him too. Part of me thinks it's because he's afraid of another break up... How do I know if he cares and how can I show him that he needs to take a chance and step into the dating world again?
